Senate HELP advances Saphier surgeon general nomination, 12–11
The Senate HELP Committee advanced Nicole Saphier’s surgeon general nomination on a party-line 12–11 vote, following her September 16 hearing — where she said ‘I do not believe childhood vaccines cause autism’ and called MMR ‘our greatest tool for combating measles.’ A floor vote is not expected until after the midterms.
