NIH announces major human-based research investments

Bhattacharya’s NIH unveiled five initiatives to move beyond animal models: $88M+ in infrastructure, a $7M+ quantum-measurement challenge, a human-organoid and AI lab at the Clinical Center, human-based-science grant reviewers, and a feasibility review of annual vertebrate-animal-use reporting.
