FDA approves mFlusiva, first mRNA flu vaccine
The FDA approved mFlusiva for ages 50+ — the first mRNA flu vaccine — after a unanimous June VRBPAC vote. The agency had refused to review the application in February under Prasad’s CBER, then reversed after his departure. A setback for the team’s anti-mRNA wing; a data point for the ‘plausible mechanism’ reformers who stayed.
