Mark Hyman on Healthy Whole-Food Fats: recommends

Hyman recommends avocados, extra-virgin olive oil, avocado oil, nuts (walnuts, almonds, pecans), seeds (chia, flax, hemp, pumpkin), and coconut oil in moderation as the diet’s fat sources. In Eat Fat, Get Thin (2016), he argued that processed carbohydrates — not fat — drive obesity, and that saturated fat has been wrongly demonized in dietary guidance.

His stated reasoning is that whole-food fats from these sources support satiety, nutrient absorption, and metabolic function, while the fats he opposes are industrial seed and vegetable oils, which he treats as a separate, refined category. (Hyman’s position; not this site’s medical advice.)
