Gary Taubes headlines the 2026 Symposium for Metabolic Health (San Diego, Aug 13–16)
Resolved
Gary Taubes was a featured speaker at the 11th annual Symposium for Metabolic Health, held August 13–16, 2026 in San Diego and organized by LowCarbUSA with the Society of Metabolic Health Practitioners. The ACCME-accredited symposium included a focus day on “The Metabolic Roots of Obesity & Type 2 Diabetes.”
Ahead of the event, Taubes told LowCarbUSA he was weighing two possible talks: the history of obesity as an energy-balance problem (the subject of his June 2026 NIH talk), or the clinical case for ketogenic diets — drawing on The Case for Keto, for which he says he interviewed 120 physicians using low-carb and keto approaches in practice.
